1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly to us, such as when you create an account, update your profile, create or respond to deals, send messages, or contact us for support. This includes your name, email address, date of birth, phone number, profile photo, school or team, class year, position, social media connections and follower counts, approximate location, and payment details.
We ask athletes for a date of birth because it determines whether a parent or guardian must cosign a deal. Where a guardian is required, we also collect that guardian’s name, email address, relationship to the athlete, and postal address so they can sign the agreement.
2. Athletes Under 18
Star of the Sea NIL is used by high-school athletes, and some of our users are minors. This section describes how we treat their information.
You must be at least 13 to hold an account. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete the account and its data. A parent or guardian who believes we hold information about a child under 13 should contact us at support@staroftheseanil.com and we will delete it.
A parent or guardian must cosign for an athlete under 18. No deal involving a minor can start until a guardian has signed the agreement alongside them.
What is public. An athlete’s profile — including their name, photo, school or team, class year, sport, biography, city and state, and social handles and follower counts — is visible to anyone on the internet without signing in, and these pages may be indexed by search engines. This is how businesses find athletes, and it applies to minors as well as adults.
What is never public. Date of birth, phone number, email address, exact home location, and guardian contact details are never shown on a public profile. Map pins show an approximate area derived from the athlete’s city, never their actual location.
Parents and guardians may ask us what we hold about their child, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete the account entirely, by contacting support@staroftheseanil.com. An account can also be deleted at any time from within the app or website.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve our services; process transactions; send notifications; respond to your comments and questions; and protect against fraud and abuse.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as described in this policy, including with other users as part of the marketplace functionality, with service providers who assist in our operations, and when required by law.
5. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Payment information is processed securely through Stripe.
6. Your Rights
You may access, update, or delete your account information at any time through the app or website settings. You may also request a copy of your data or request deletion by contacting us at support@staroftheseanil.com.
